Job Title: 2 Planning Assistants (Project-based, initial contract of 6 months with possible extension depending on performance)
Job Description:
The GeoInfometrics Solutions Corp., is looking for two (2) Project-based Planning Assistants who will work with the Planning Team of the Company. This is full-time work that requires regular reporting in the head office in Los Banos, Laguna, and must be willing to travel and work at the project sites when necessary.
The Planning Assistants will be required to complete a range of planning projects as part of a team delivering full end-to-end or capacity-based services for public and private entities. The position requires a motivated Planning Assistant with experience in evaluating the full range of planning and development activities. It entails the completion of a planning workload to meet the required deadlines, therefore the right individual must be able to demonstrate strong time management skills and an ability to work under pressure. The role requires liaising with both external and internal parties, negotiating/communicating with clients, and communicating effectively with other members of the team.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct fieldwork and primary/secondary data gathering relevant to assigned project/s;
2. Coordinate with GeoInfometrics personnel or project consultants and Clients for the effective implementation of projects;
3. Enter and analyze data for different studies and plans, including conducting statistical analyses, preparing graphs/tables using prescribed format/guidelines, and developing presentations;
4. Assist in the project management and implementation of activities;
5. Serve as a facilitator in consultation meetings, workshops, and project presentations.
6. Prepare data for input into geodatabase;
7. Draft reports with the guidance of planning officers, consultants, and project leaders;
8. Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors/consultants.
Qualifications:
Skills and Experience
• Time Management – The position entails the completion of planning projects to meet the required deadlines, therefore the right individual must be able to demonstrate strong time management skills and an ability to work under pressure.
• Self-Motivation – The selected candidate must be highly motivated to succeed in her/his full-time position in planning and committed to delivering a quality service.
• Excellent Communication – The role will require liaising with both external and internal parties, negotiating with applicants and agents, and communicating effectively with other members of the team. Therefore, the candidate will be required to demonstrate that he/she has excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Analysis of Plans –Required to quickly develop the skills to analyze plans and assess their acceptability against Local, Regional, and National Planning Policies.
• Report Writing – The selected individual must possess the skills to write clear and concise planning reports, which provide a full and accurate analysis for the consideration of the line manager.
Education
• Relevant Bachelor’s degrees such as but not limited to Human Ecology, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or equivalent within a planning discipline
• Licensed Environmental Planner highly advantage
• Having GIS skills is an advantage
• Having work experience is an advantage
